I think at times we have taught a whole generation to just abide by some rules and then God is plaesed with them. I think I have fallen into that same thing and idea at time. God has been speaking me on slot of the same things. I might get bold and post some of the things he has been placing on my heart. It's difficult to see people (whether young or older) wondering aimlessly searching for the answers. What is unfortunate is that you are trying to show them the truth and they can't see through their own "smoke clouds." I really think that students feel a little bit of a reality in Christ, a pulling of the heartstrings and a tug at the soul, asking...why aren't you following me. They get scared and instead of confronting it, and saying "Yes God, I know it's time to follow you!" They move somewhere else, where they don't have to have that confrontation...for a while. Bummer! Here it goes again... I too struggle with those issues especially with Austyn now being a part of the youth group. So I try to remember myself at the age and can&#39;t recall being passionate about anything.....but myself. Sad.. but the truth. God was on the back burner. Later though, I realized that other things were way more important than me. That Jesus Christ could love me unconditionally even though I put Him last still amazes me and shames me at the same time. My God, family &amp; friends and yes even church are now my passion. J.C. continues to teach me of his agape love and through that, even the slightest flicker of faith that I see in students reminds me to keep running the race. Past youth workers DID make an impact on me and it was their LOVE not their teachings that I remember. So I am striving to LOVE STUDENTS. And also when you said you were soaking last night I thought the blog was gonna be about your other soacking incident, it made me laugh. But I def wonder the same thing alot. But at the same time the word says that some are called to be planters, some nurturers, and others harvesters. I was reading the other day also where it talks about God being the one who makes the seeds grow. We are powerless in that area, so I guess this is where we have to trust God to grow the seed of Passion for Him into a full blown stankin big harvest of Passion?? I dont know, anyhow, great thoughts.
